An alleged leak about GTA 6 is now predicting the announcement for the release as well as the trailer reveal. Even providing a date. Today, on March 25, GTA 6 is allegedly set to be announced.
What is it about? The next installment in the GTA franchise is highly anticipated by fans. After a particularly successful GTA 5 Online, fans are now finally hoping for the announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI, almost 7 years after the release of GTA V.
A new leak claims that this announcement is imminent and reveals even more information.
Update from March 26: The leaked announcement for March 25 did not come true. Nevertheless, some fans believe that the screenshot must have some truth to it.
Where does the GTA 6 leak come from and what does it say? Release, trailer and more
What kind of leak is this? An anonymous user posted details about the alleged announcement plan for GTA 6 on the internet forum “4Chan”, stating that it will not be released for PS4 and Xbox One.
It states that
- that Rockstar Games will announce Grand Theft Auto VI today, on March 25, across all their social media channels
- that the first trailer for GTA 6 will be released later in the week following the announcement
- that the game will have a setting in Vice City and will take place in the 1980s
- that players can take on the role of police officers in multiplayer mode

What supports the leak? As Dexerto reports, this would be a similar release plan to that of GTA 5. Which therefore supports this leak. On October 25, 2011, Rockstar Games posted a tweet that simply contained “#GTAV” and referenced the website showing the GTA 5 logo. The trailer for GTA 5 was released on November 2, 2011.
Recently, a theory emerged that Rockstar wants to give a hint about GTA 6 with this new race.
What speaks against the leak: The 4Chan screenshot contains other leaks that the user mentions in the same breath. Including that Nintendo would announce the “Breath of the Wild” sequel during their “Online Direct” stream. The use of the word “announce” regarding Nintendo is problematic, as the sequel to BOTW was officially announced during E3 2019 (via GameStar). This makes it seem as if the leaker does not know what they are talking about, as their “leaked” announcement already took place last year.
So take this leak with a large grain of salt and do not consider the information confirmed. Some players are eagerly awaiting today and checking to see if the information proves true. Another leak already predicted the announcement for March 20, but that also turned out to be false.
That the 6th installment will return to Vice City is also claimed by other insiders. The biggest rumors about the release, announcement and setting for GTA 6.
