After the rework of Poppy was a success, League of Legends is already planning the next champion rework.
While the focus will mainly be on reworking the mages, the next major rework of a single champion will, according to RiotRepertoir, be Taric. Recently, Taric is rarely seen in the Summoner’s Rift. This might be due to the fact that Taric’s playstyle doesn’t significantly influence the game – at least it often feels that way in the current state.
Currently, there are simply support champions that are “easier” to play. These include Thresh, Leona, Zilean, Braum, or Brand. Of course, “easier” here refers to the enjoyment of gameplay, not an overpowered scale.
What can we expect from the Taric update in League of Legends?

The “new” Taric is expected to bring the same advantages to the game that he currently possesses. So he will likely retain his healing, stun, and armor buff. However, RiotRepertoir also mentioned that he will have the strongest spell in League of Legends situationally. He will remain a combat healer – just in a very “different” way. When asked how significant the champion update will be, Repertoir replied: Overall, not as strong as Sion but more significant than with Poppy.
When the update will come, we cannot say yet, as the forum unfortunately only offered the usual “Soon™” as a response. But it is now clear that Taric will be the next champion rework that LoL receives.
