In the MOBA League of Legends, one of the heroines has been changed. And there is an outcry from the fans over the new, desexualized Fiora.
Some months ago, Riot announced that they would bring other heroines, not always focusing on being curvy, sexy, and well-endowed: Less Baywatch, more diversity, so to speak. But who would have thought they actually meant it and not just apply these ideas to new heroines, but “normalize” existing sex bombs.
Fiora, a sort of modern fencer, has undergone a rework. Riot not only changed gameplay mechanics (which probably bothers hardly anyone), but also her face. Anyone who knows League of Legends knows that normally you don’t pick up much on this, but there is “Splash Art” and it angers fans.

The cheekbones and face have been changed, giving her a more “mature” appearance. As Kotaku reports, this has raised resistance from fans who are quite vocal about it. They say she looks like Cruella de Ville, the villain from 101 Dalmatians – or like the French girlfriend of the rat-controlled chef from “Ratatouille,” players are quoted. Fiora is no longer a hot babe, but a middle-aged woman that no one wants to sleep with anymore. She isn’t even a MILF, but looks like a “50-year-old cosplayer.”
Riot is certainly not completely innocent regarding the image fans had of the fencer and that they now feel threatened by. Fiora has also been regarded as “sexy” by Riot up to now: Her various skins did not ignore the fact that she has a large chest but emphasized it: For example, with this highly sexualized “Fiora as strict teacher” skin.
When this is changed retrospectively, such reactions seem to be programmed, even if they might be a bit drastic. Others, however, are pleased with this change. A female fan of the game mentioned that she can finally play the also reworked Miss Fortune; these are now the first skins that no longer look so sleazy.
