The abilities of the new League of Legends Champion Ivern have now been revealed through a video presentation. Watch here how the hero plays.
At first, it was a voice heard in the jungle of League of Legends, then there was a short video teaser. This way, Riot introduced the new champion Ivern to its fans. After the teaser video, many questions remained as the exact abilities were not presented. Now, developer Riot Games has released a new video that goes into more detail and showcases Ivern’s various abilities.
Abilities of Ivern, Friend of the Forest
As his title suggests, Ivern has a strong connection with the forest. For example, he can place additional bushes on the map. He can use these bushes to hide behind or restrict vision. The presentation video also shows that he has a kind of channeling ability that allows him to take buffs without violence.

Passive – Friend of the Forest: Because Ivern would never harm jungle monsters, he frees them instead. When clicking on a camp in the jungle, Ivern creates a Grove at the cost of some health and mana. After a certain time, the grove matures, and only then can players release the jungle monsters by clicking on the grove. Gold and experience rewards are still given. If you use Smite on a camp with a grove, you release the monsters immediately. Starting at level 5, you can create copies of the red and blue buffs. The buffs leave behind a sapling that allied players can pick up.
Q – Rootcaller: A root deals damage to the first enemy hit and roots them in place. Allies wishing to make a normal attack on this target will automatically jump into range for that attack.
W – Wonderwucher:
(Passive) If Ivern is in high grass, his normal attacks deal increased magical damage and have increased range. After Ivern leaves the high grass, this effect lasts for a few seconds.
(Active) Ivern conjures a bush that temporarily reveals the surrounding area. If the bush is placed against a wall or other bushes, it covers a larger area. After a certain time, the conjured bushes will disappear on their own.
E – Thorns of Fire: Gives an allied player a shield that detonates after a time and deals damage to enemies in the area. Enemies hit by the detonation are also slowed.
R – Bloom: Ivern summons a creature called Bloom. After a few automatic attacks, Bloom triggers a knock-up on the hit target. Additionally, enemies in a straight line behind the target are also knocked into the air. If you activate the ability again, you can direct Bloom to new targets.
