The new playlist update is already live, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone are releasing another small update on Friday, May 29, and launching a double XP event for the last days of Season 3. Additionally, Warzone seems to have a new advertising partner for hot rides.
Why is the last update worth it? After the new playlist for the end of Season 3 went live last night, May 26 at around 8:30 PM, there will be another small change on Friday for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone – double experience points for everyone.
MeinMMO shows you here the details of the double XP weekend and the current playlists.
Double XP and exactly the right playlists for CoD MW
How does the XP event work? From Friday evening, our phase with double experience points starts. At the usual time, around 7:00 PM, the bonuses begin and last until Monday evening:
- Friday, May 29 at 7:00 PM, the event starts
- In total, the 2x XP phase lasts 3 days
- Monday, June 1 at 7:00 PM, the event ends
CoD is again giving a boost to all 3 progression pillars and you can
- your account level
- the weapon levels
- the battle pass
boost with the double experience points. The right playlists for this are available in CoD MW, as the popular mini-maps are running in 24/7 modes.

What does the playlist look like in CoD MW? This week, there are some exciting modes that should provide variety and there are 2 of the most popular playlists that many players wish for a double XP event:
- Ground War – Large mode with its own mega maps and rules.
- Gunfight Blueprints – A 2vs2 battle on tiny maps with random blueprint weapons.
- Gun Game – A rather unusual mode where you switch weapons with each kill. This time on Gunfight maps with a maximum of 4 players in the match.
- Team Deathmatch Domination – Capture flags like in Domination, but kills also earn points for victory, like in a team deathmatch.
- Drop Zone – Here you can earn killstreaks only with supply drops and must hold an area to earn points.
- Shipment 24/7 – 5vs5 moshpit on the smallest regular map. Lots of action, lots of chaos, many XP.
- Shoot House 24/7 – 6vs6 moshpit on a slightly larger map than Shipment. Still small enough for tons of experience points.
While it is possible that there will be small changes in the playlist on Friday with the start of the XP event, it is rather unlikely that the 24/7 modes will disappear, as many players wish for these action modes with high XP potential during the double XP phase.
Warzone playlist without surprises – But with a new advertising partner
What does the playlist look like in Warzone? After the classic battle royale mode disappeared from the playlist again after a few days, there are currently no surprises here:
- BR-4 – Experience the Warzone as a 4-man team.
- BR-3 – The battle royale with standard rules as a trio
- BR-Solo – The solo experience in the Warzone
- Plunder 4 – The normal plunder mode in a 4-man squad
What else is going on with CoD? The real-money shop is getting a few new highlights and is likely to generate decent revenue this week. With the first PlayStation Plus game of June, CoD WWII, you could briefly secure 1,100 CoD points.
Currently, there is the “Plunder Pack” with golden vehicle skins and Call of Duty has found just the right advertising partner for it – the American rapper Xzibit, who hosted the tuning show “Pimp my Ride” for a while and is now known as the “Warzone Minister of Flexin'”:
Not much longer and the current CoD will launch into Season 4. Likely as early as next week. As an operator, the iconic Captain Price will likely be available and the duo mode might finally come to Warzone. Here you will find everything we already know about Season 4.
