It has been almost two weeks since the first team was able to defeat the final boss of the raid “Last Wish” in Destiny 2. Since then, the Dreaming City has changed even more, revealing more secrets.
With the weekly reset on September 25, the Dreaming City has entered its third week since the first defeat of the raid’s final boss.
Since then, the city has continued to change and seems to have reached the peak of its curse, assuming a three-week cycle. However, the more the curse progresses, the more secrets the Dreaming City reveals.
Dark and Dismal: The Dreaming City
What does the city look like in the third week? The curse pronounced by the final boss of the “Last Wish” raid has massively altered the city in the third week. All around, the Taken are spreading, and their decay permeates the area that was recently still beautiful.

Where the Dreaming City was once a sunny landscape, as if it had come out of a “Lord of the Rings” movie, it is now a polluted eyesore on a cold rainy day. Even the music has changed and is now more melancholic and dark.
Why should it be a three-week cycle? Before the release of Forsaken, the developers frequently talked about the Dreaming City of the Awoken. It was repeatedly emphasized that the city would be a different world three weeks after launch compared to its state at launch.
Players now assume that this statement is to be taken literally, and that the curse in the Dreaming City worsens for three weeks before the area resets to its original state.
How this will happen and whether the fading will be explained in the story is still unknown.
Guardians are Excited About New Secrets and Exotic Weapons
In the third week after defeating the raid, several secrets have already been revealed that Guardians have been waiting for.

Guardians can now obtain their bow: The questline for the exotic bow Wish-Ender is now live. With the weekly reset, the mission “The Broken Throne” is now available, leading players to the bow. However, this questline is only for high-level Guardians: Challengers in the quest have power levels between 570 and 590, which is higher than what the raid requires.
Players can also get “Hand Cannon”: The quest for the hand cannon Hand Cannon was discovered after the reset. However, this is somewhat dependent on chance, as players only receive the task if the special enemy “Ascendant Risen” spawns in Gambit.
What do you think of the changes in the Dreaming City? Are you jumping right into the weapon quests or have you already discovered new secrets?
