A stylish riding spider in World of Warcraft will be disappearing soon. Take the last chance to get it.
In a few days, the long-awaited Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination will be released in World of Warcraft. This means that time is running short to obtain the “Ahead of the Curve” achievement. But another, much cooler reward is also disappearing soon. The Malevolent Warspider. While it comes from PvP, it is still quite easy to obtain even for PvP non-fans.
What is the Malevolent Warspider? The Malevolent Warspider is the current PvP reward for rated arena and battleground matches. While this mount is usually only available for ambitious PvP players, this time it can be obtained comparatively easily by players who have no clue about PvP.
The spider is a rather large mount and quite imposing. Equipped with additional armor pieces, it is a real eye-catcher.
How to get the Malevolent Warspider? To do this, you need to complete rated arena matches or rated battlegrounds while having a rating of 1,000 or higher. This is quite a low requirement, as a rating of 1,000 can be achieved within a few matches. Additionally, it is virtually impossible to drop below a rating of 1,000. In other words: Once you’re over 1,000, every win in the arena counts towards the spider.
- In 2vs2, you need about 300 wins.
- In 3vs3, you need only about 100 wins.
It is therefore worthwhile to team up with two friends – or find like-minded individuals in the group finder – who want to quickly earn the spider.
Until when can you still get the spider? Only for about a week. Because shortly before the release of Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination on June 30th, the current Season 1 of Shadowlands will end. Consequently, the rewards will no longer be available.
Will there ever be another chance to get the spider? That’s likely, yes. Many mounts are made accessible again later, also through PvP. However, this does not always happen within the same expansion but often only in a future addon. If you let the spider slip through your fingers now, you will probably have to do without it for a long time.
Why is the spider so awesome? There are very few spider mounts in World of Warcraft. The current Malevolent Warspider is practically the cheapest option that can be earned relatively easily through “a little PvP.” Another spider, the Bloodfang Widow, costs a staggering 2,000,000 gold pieces and can only be purchased from a vendor who is not even permanently present. So you are also saving a lot of gold if you do some PvP now.
For now, you won’t find a cheaper opportunity to trigger the arachnophobia of your guild members.
