The Chinese publisher Perfect World Games announced 4 new MMORPGs at a press conference. Among them is a successor to the well-known MMORPG Perfect World, which is said to receive a budget of 38 million euros.
What are these MMORPGs?
- The highlight of the announcement is Perfect New World (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X). It is an action-oriented open-world MMORPG that is related to the still popular Perfect World (International).
- Also coming to PC is World of Jade Dynasty. This MMORPG is said to be beautiful and support the latest graphics technologies. Although there are already some older videos of the game, they apparently do not reflect the current state of the game.
- Perfect New World Mobile (iOS, Android, PC) is said to be a game set in the same universe as the newly announced PC and console versions. However, it is supposed to be standalone and will have its own PC client with crossplay.
- With Jade Dynasty 2 (iOS, Android), a mobile game is coming that is based on the PC MMORPG Dynasty World. However, it considers itself rather a successor to Jade Dynasty, a game that was discontinued in 2018.
What kind of publisher is this? Perfect World Games is a developer studio and publisher from China. One of their own productions is Perfect World, an older MMORPG.
The Chinese company also owns the American studio Perfect World Entertainment. Their portfolio currently includes more than 10 MMORPGs, including Star Trek Online and Neverwinter. However, these are not directly involved in the development of games in China.

What do we know about Perfect New World? The new AAA MMORPG is said to be the successor to Perfect World and is still relatively early in development. However, there are already some interesting details about the game:
- The game world is said to be huge and have no loading screens
- The story is supposed to be “richer” than in Perfect World
- The combat system is described as dynamic and action-packed
- The character editor is expected to be very detailed
- A significant focus is to be on the graphics: Perfect New World is to support RTX and DLSS
- The budget is 300 million yuan (about 38 million euros)
- Perfect New World will be released first for PS5 and Xbox Series X, and only afterwards for PC
A global release is planned, although there is currently no date for it.

What do we know about the mobile version? Even in the MMORPG Perfect New World Mobile, beautiful graphics are the focus. The game uses Unreal Engine 4 and is also expected to receive a PC version, through which players can enjoy the mobile MMORPG on a larger screen.
The release of the mobile MMORPG is already planned for 2022. However, there are no further details available.

2 more MMORPGs about which little is known
What do we know about the other two games? Jade Dynasty was an MMORPG that set you in ancient China. It featured a large game world, quests, and especially a lot of PvP.
The two new titles World of Jade Dynasty and Jade Dynasty 2 are supposed to be connected to this old world. Both projects have been mentioned multiple times in recent years, although there was relatively little information about the PC MMORPG.
More has been revealed about Jade Dynasty 2 – the mobile MMORPG. In the story, you play a young adventurer who explores a fantasy world where beautiful landscapes and dangerous monsters await you.
The game is also expected to offer “AAA-level graphics” and relies on Unreal Engine 4. Additionally, the MMORPG is already prepared for 5G cloud gaming.
