The video appeals to the viewer’s sense of wonder. They are amazed as they follow the development of buildings. “We provide you with a tool and you continuously surprise us,” is the message of the video.

Landmark was previously known as Everquest Next Landmark and was intended to serve as a kind of sandbox editor to allow players to create buildings and landscapes that would later be featured in Everquest Next.
However, Landmark has now outgrown its beginnings and is set to surpass the appeal of the actual parent project Everquest Next. The developer Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), under its President and guiding spirit John Smedley, is undergoing a significant image transformation.
Smedley believes that conventional MMORPG models, where designers give players something to do, are doomed to fail in the long run, as players rush through the content faster than designers can produce it. Therefore, Smedley is convinced that players should create the world and adventures for each other. With Landmark, SOE is on the right path to make this possible for players.
