The sandbox game Landmark will soon give players expanded options for storytelling.

With the next beta update, Landmark aims to advance the long-awaited “storytelling” feature. Currently, while players can build many things, it is challenging to tell a story using just blocks; one cannot create a dungeon or an adventure. For this, other characters or monsters are needed. Therefore, the next tool players will practically be given is the ability to place characters, both friends and foes.
They will then receive specific instructions on how to behave. The long-term goal would probably be to tell “stories” in the world of Landmark: creating a narrative through which other players can fight their way through.
The news is overshadowed in some places by the mourning for Everquest Next. The “mother project” of Landmark was recently canceled.
