Many are eagerly awaiting the release of the Xbox Series X. Microsoft has now presented the controller and loading times of Xbox One X vs. Series X.
Where does the information come from? In a video released by Microsoft on the official Xbox channel on YouTube, the loading times of Xbox One X and Xbox Series X are presented.
In comparison, the two consoles are shown directly next to each other in the video: you can see exactly how long each system takes to start. The game is States of Decay 2, which is now available on Steam. We have embedded the video for you here:
Loading Times Xbox One X vs. Xbox Series X
Here are the loading times in comparison: Both systems begin the loading process simultaneously at 0:15 in the video. On the left is the Xbox One X, on the right the Xbox Series X:
- The Xbox Series X has loaded the game by 0:24 and the player can move their character. At this point, the Xbox One X is still loading.
- At 1:07, the Xbox One X is also done with the loading process and the player can also play.
The Xbox Series X loads States of Decay in about 10 seconds, while the Xbox One X takes about 5 times longer before the game is ready to play on screen.
What technology is behind it? Microsoft calls its new technology used in the Xbox Series X “Velocity Engine Architecture” (via Xbox.com). According to the manufacturer, it is supposed to significantly improve performance, boot, and loading times, as well as provide more stable frame rates.
