In Black Desert, there is currently a costume contest taking place. On a special webpage, players can vote for various costumes. The winning costume will be implemented into the game by the developers. The community is divided on whether female characters should receive more modest costumes that do not always focus on showing underwear.
The developers Pearl Abyss regularly hold costume contests. Talented fans can submit their costume ideas, and the community then votes on them.
If a costume wins, it will be brought into the game by the developers, and the winner will receive a cash prize.

This year, only one costume can win, and ten submissions have made it to the finals. You still have the chance to vote for your favorite in Black Desert until April 11th.
You can see all 10 costumes available for voting here.
Gender Difference
Although Black Desert is known for its revealing female characters, the number of costumes for male and female classes in the current costume contest is balanced. Actually a good sign.
However, among the final submissions, a significant difference between the genders can be noted: While the male costumes all look cool and “badass,” the focus of the female costumes seems much more to emphasize curves or show as much as possible.
One comment says: “All [submissions] are well drawn […], but as always in this game, the cool costumes are for the men, while the women are stuck in their ‘loli-‘ or ‘slutty’ look.”
Some fans would like to see their female character in a full suit of armor that doesn’t include a miniskirt.

However, another fan sees it quite differently:
“All the cool [costumes] are for the men? Is that meant to be ironic? Because I think the most good-looking ones are for the women.
