On Fortnite, the premiere of a new song by the Korean band BTS was showcased on Saturday, September 26. To witness the spectacle, BTS fans downloaded Fortnite. Was it worth it?
This was the “concert” in Fortnite: On Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 2:00 AM German time, the premiere of the song “Dynamite” by the Korean K-Pop band BTS took place in Fortnite Party Royale. Players could relive the event later at 2:00 PM.
During this premiere, they showed the music video one hour before it was released on BTS’s official YouTube channel. The song was played a total of 3 times. The original was shown twice, along with an additional version featuring the lyrics and Fortnite skins dancing to it.
After players were able to dance and enjoy the show, the “event” concluded with a beautiful fireworks display.
BTS Fans venture into the game for the first time
This is how fans of the Korean band reacted to the premiere: Since the song was initially only showcased exclusively in Fortnite, some fans likely entered the battle royale shooter to not miss the premiere.
Some of them shared their thoughts directly under the YouTube video:
- “That was great. Maybe I’ll give Fortnite a chance and try it (the game) out.”
- “I installed Fortnite just for this event. I even bought the matching emotes.”
- “I’m not a fan of Fortnite. This is the only time I played, just to see this event.”
Some of these BTS fans might even stick around in Fortnite and discover a new game for themselves. They might already have stocked up on some emotes. For all those who are new to Fortnite, we have a guide with tips and tricks on how to master the game:
How did the event go down with Fortnite players?
This is how Fortnite players reacted to the Korean band: The event was well received not only by BTS fans. Some of the original Fortnite players, who simply wanted to partake in the event, were also excited about the new song or the band itself.
They commented under the YouTube video about the premiere:
- “I don’t like BTS, but I can’t deny that this event was great. Edit: I’m now obsessed with BTS.”
- “Looks like K-Pop isn’t that bad after all.”
- “I’m not a fan of K-Pop, but that was kind of cool. The Travis Scott concert was definitely better.”
In general, it seems that the “concert” was well received, but the comparison to the Travis Scott concert is frequently mentioned in the comments. The epic concert brought a massive Travis Scott into the Fortnite world and was one of the coolest events in Fortnite visually. In comparison, there is a significant difference, even though the BTS event also had its attractions.
