Far Cry 5 will be officially released on March 27 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. While players wait at home for the game to be unlocked on Steam, many console players are already roaming through the fictional Hope County.
Some retailers are already shipping physical copies of the game. Photos of happy console players sharing their experiences are piling up on social media.
PC players ask Ubisoft to finally release Far Cry 5
PC players find the whole situation dreadful. On Reddit, some are already asking Ubisoft to release Far Cry 5 earlier, as Let’s Plays of the title already exist on YouTube. Other PC owners console themselves with the fact that they can at least enjoy the game at 60 frames per second.

The game is only available on PC through the platforms Steam and Uplay, which also unlock Far Cry 5 only at the official release.
To protect the PC player base from unwanted spoilers, strict rules have already been introduced in the subreddit for Far Cry 5. It is prohibited to mention story spoilers in the titles of posts. Additionally, Let’s Plays on the platform are deleted up to one day after the official release.
First reviews are quite positive
According to initial impressions, Far Cry 5 does not differ as much from its predecessors as Ubisoft wants us to believe, but the enjoyment of the game is not supposed to suffer.
According to Kotaku, the creepy yet beautiful environment impresses. Exploring the surroundings works differently, as the communication towers from the other parts are omitted. The map is revealed as players move in the respective direction and discover quests in any order.
On Reddit, the story is particularly well-received. User MikeySunshine claims that Far Cry 5 offers the best-designed story he has played since Bioshock. Everything has a place and a reason to be in the game world. Moreover, the latest installment in the Far Cry series has some of the most charismatic villains to offer.
