In Pokémon GO a new Raid boss will appear in November. Kobalium will replace the Regi Trio and will be available for almost the entire month of November. We provide information on its usability and the times when Kobalium rules the raids.
When will Kobalium appear? The legendary Pokémon from the 5th generation will appear on November 4th. It will replace the Regi Trio, which is available until then.
Kobalium will remain available in Pokémon GO raids until November 26th, and you will have enough time to secure the PokéDex entry.
Everything you need to know about Kobalium
How strong will Kobalium be? First, let’s take a look at the Pokémon’s stats:
- Attack value: 192
- Defense value: 229
- HP value: 209
- Maximum CP: 3022
In terms of stats, Kobalium is not convincing. The values are decent, but they do not stand out. Especially the attack value is weak, which is particularly important for legendary Pokémon. Kobalium is also not convincing for PvP. Its attacks are too weak for that.
What attacks does it learn? Currently, the attacks for Kobalium do not look very promising:
- Quick Attacks: Metal Claw, Zen Headbutt
- Charge Attacks: Close Combat, Stone Edge, Iron Head
Kobalium does not have a quick attack of the Fighting type and rather weak Steel-type attacks. Its types cannot be well utilized.
How does one counter Kobalium? The Pokémon is of the Fighting and Steel types and therefore weak against the types Fighting, Fire, and Ground. The best Pokémon here are those of the Fire type, such as Skelabra, Lohgock, or Lavados.
A detailed counter guide to Kobalium will be added at the release of the Pokémon.
How many people do you need for it? Kobalium can already be defeated well by three players. No particularly strong counters are needed for that.
Is the Pokémon worth it? The game’s meta will not change with Kobalium. Pokémon like Metagross or Dialga are significantly better Steel attackers. It is also unlikely to appear as a Shiny. Thus, you do not need to do many raids of this Pokémon.
