The MMORPG/RTS Kingdom Under Fire 2 has released a new cinematic trailer. It lasts just under two minutes, but is packed with scenes from the epic battles that await you.
This is shown in the trailer: Kingdom Under Fire 2 showcases scenes in the new trailer that depict both the MMORPG and real-time strategy aspects of the game. You can see how:
- burning dragons annihilate hordes of enemies
- huge cannons fire their rounds
- undead skeleton mages cast dark spells
- playable heroes showcase their skills
In the two minutes the game apparently packs in all the features that could make it epic and entice fans to play it. The trailer is really cool, but may come a bit too late.
Kingdom Under Fire 2 – 10 Years of Development
What is Kingdom Under Fire 2? Kingdom Under Fire 2 combines aspects of MMORPG and real-time strategy (RTS). You have the opportunity to play and level one of five unique heroes to improve your gear and experience adventures.
At the same time, you command troops and engage in tactical battles in the style of an RTS. You will likely have access to many of the units seen in the trailer, such as:
- dragons
- giant scorpions
- mammoth-like monsters that are probably good for transport
The trend of these “siege MMOs” is also reflected in other games of this time, such as Conqueror’s Blade. Kingdom Under Fire 2 is set to be released in November 2019 for PC. A version for PS4 and Xbox One may follow.
This is the problem: Kingdom Under Fire is actually a popular franchise that celebrated great success upon its launch in 2001 and until 2008. After that, it somewhat declined, but Kingdom Under Fire 2 was supposed to be released in 2009.
This has now been in development for nearly 10 years and has had to overcome many hurdles. The time has not necessarily been kind to the game, as the graphics may seem a bit outdated for some players compared to today’s technology.
Nevertheless, there are some fans who are looking forward to Kingdom Under Fire 2. In the West, however, you will have to pay for it, even though the game is free in other countries:
