The MMO Kingdom Under Fire 2 has received a major update that included quality of life changes, as well as a completely new raid. Currently, the German guilds are particularly active in this raid.
What did the new update bring? On December 17, a large patch was released for Kingdom Under Fire 2, the mix of MMORPG and RTS. The update included:
- The first 16-man raid “Scourge Peaks”
- A new solo dungeon “Treasure Goblin Nest”
- The new Christmas event, which runs until January 7
- New units
- Quality of life changes
- Balance adjustments
It was the first major update since the release on November 14, which was quiet but successful. And the patch has made many players very happy.
How is the update received? The new patch of Kingdom Under Fire 2 is well received by the players because Gameforge has made some changes that were urgently required:
- The distribution of loot has been adjusted so that now every player receives loot instead of rolling for rare loot.
- Players no longer receive loot for other classes after a mission.
- The unit “Slaughterer” has been weakened, which was significantly stronger than the other units.
- The guild size has been increased from 40 to 60.
However, a highlight is the new raid. “The Scourge Peaks” have particularly attracted hardcore players.
German guilds leading the progress
What is special about the new raid? The Scourge Peaks are designed for 16 players and contain some special rewards, including 5 new units.
In the raid, each player competes with their character and only one additional unit. Therefore, the teamwork and timing play an important role in battles against the bosses.
The raid has been online for about 48 hours now and has not yet been completely conquered by any guild. While many are already struggling with the first boss of the Scourge Peaks, some guilds have made it to stage 4 out of 5.
And at the forefront are primarily German guilds.
Which guilds are competing for the World First? The most successful guild in the raid is currently “Sterbehilfe”, which also shares its progress on Twitch. They completed stage 2 of the raid for the World First on December 17.
Together with the also German guild Northguard, they are currently trying their luck at stage 4. According to their statement, they are only seconds away from defeating the boss.
From the North American side, the guild Gaia is also in the race. They reached stage 4 last night but still have to get used to the new opponent.
Why are German guilds leading? That German guilds are currently playing at the front in Kingdom Under Fire 2 is no big surprise. The MMO mixes MMORPG with real-time strategy. And German players love strategy games of all kinds.
This also benefits a Hamburg gaming studio, which has achieved over 1 billion euros in revenue from their love of strategy games.
Roadmap for the Future of KUF2
What do the developers plan for the future of the game? In the forum, the developers released a list of contents that are to be improved or developed in the future.
On the list are among others:
- Balance changes to classes/units
- Balance changes to raids/missions
- The reward structure
- Teleport costs
- Functions against AFKers in PvP
Additionally, there is a list of new features that have been requested by the community, but still need to be discussed internally. These include:
- Removal of the gender locks
- Console versions
- Account-wide purchases
- More crafting-related content
- A large RTS mode with more units
- Improvements to the MMO content of the game
- More options for key bindings
