Kingdom under Fire 2: New MMO for PS4, PC – When is the EU release?

New information has emerged about the action MMORPG Kingdom under Fire 2. When can we expect a release of the MMORPG in Europe and Germany for PS4 and Xbox One? There is no release date yet, but a time frame is becoming clear.

At a press conference in South Korea, news about the fate of Kingdom under Fire 2 was revealed. Now the timing known as the planned release of the game in Europe and North America has been established:

• The PlayStation 4 version of Kingdom under Fire 2 is set to enter a closed beta by the end of 2017 in South Korea, Japan, North America, and Europe.
• A launch on PS4 is expected to follow relatively soon – the release window for the launch is between late 2017 and early 2018. The PS4 version is based on the PC version.
• The PC and PS4 launch will take place simultaneously in Europe and North America.

Therefore, we should expect Kingdom under Fire 2 either late in 2017 or early in 2018 on both platforms, on PS4 and PC, here in Europe and Germany.

What is Kingdom under Fire 2?

Kingdom under Fire 2 is a “siege MMO” where players control not only their main character but also an army of soldiers.

KuF2 has a tumultuous development history. It has been announced for various platforms for years. However, its release has been repeatedly delayed. For quite a while, only a version of KuF2 was playable in Southeast Asia, which did not exactly impress.

But now in 2017, visible progress is being made – in China, a “non-wipe” version is currently running, which is being fed with new gameplay content.

Kingdom under Fire 2 is considered the most expensive Korean MMORPG of all time with production costs of over 78 million dollars. It is being watched closely here in the West, especially because the franchise was popular on older Xbox consoles. A certain nostalgia factor surely plays a role.

Additionally, the new version promises quite a bit of potential. The popular YouTuber AngryJoe celebrated it as “his discovery” at an E3 years ago. Since then, the spark of “Kingdom under Fire 2” continues to glow, and perhaps it can ignite a real fire here in the West by late 2017 or early 2018.

PlayStation 4 is getting several new MMORPGs in 2017
