With the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the community has been asking whether there will be official mods. In an interview, a developer from Warhorse Studios answered this question. At the same time, MeinMMO presents unofficial mod sites.
Mods can be an important component of video games, especially RPGs. They can offset the weaknesses of a game or bring entirely new aspects into the world.
While mods were implemented for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, it wasn’t until more than a year later and only for PC. Unfortunately, those playing the RPG on console still have no way to install the numerous community modifications.
At the announcement of the second installment, voices became louder demanding mods for consoles. Fans also wondered whether there would be faster mod support for the second part. The sooner mods are made possible, the more options for mods there will be.

Unofficial Mods for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Unfortunately, the Steam Workshop cannot provide any mods, as there is no support for it. However, the site NexusMods already has a collection of some good mods. We have summarized the most useful ones for you below:
- Instant Herb Picking II (via NexusMods): Heinrich no longer has to painstakingly pull each herb from the ground, but they will be automatically collected instead.
- Unlimited Savings II (via NexusMods): The save system in KCD2 can sometimes be a bit annoying. With this mod, you can save as often as you want wherever you like; with or without rescue schnapps.
- More Carry Weight (via NexusMods): If your bags fill up too quickly, you can adjust your carrying capacity individually with this mod.
- Easy Smithing (via NexusMods): If you find smithing too tedious, you can reduce the amount of hammering with this mod.
- Convenient Items (via NexusMods): This mod makes handling items easier for you. For example, you can set food in your pockets to never spoil.
KCD 2: Official Mods Are Confirmed
Will Mods be supported in KCD 2? Warhorse announced on Instagram that official mods in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will soon be supported on Steamworks. However, they have not yet provided a specific start date for this.
That was the state before February 12, 2025: In an interview with YouTuber SxyBiscuit, the developer Sir Tobi from Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 commented on some questions. He could not say whether and when mods for KCD2 would eventually be allowed. One thing is for sure: there is still no official mod support at launch.
If mod support is to come, it will be earlier than it was for the first part. Additionally, the handling of expansions is meant to be made less complicated, so players can install them more easily.
Furthermore, the developers are currently not planning to support mods on consoles – this applies to both parts of the RPG series.
What is the reason? Sony and Microsoft have always been somewhat dismissive of mods. With their consoles, they actually promise that a game will not crash and will always run stably. Allowing mods would jeopardize that, according to the developer.
Mods must constantly be updated to keep the game running. There is a risk that the game may become unplayable at some point. Regarding KCD 1, Sir Tobi concluded: “KCD 1 has always been a house of cards, and if you move just one thing, anything can happen.”
