The developers of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 have presented their content plans for the time after the launch of the role-playing game with a trailer and a press release. Many fans of the predecessor are particularly excited about the update in winter.
Why is there a roadmap for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? Although the Warhorse Studios’ role-playing game primarily focuses on the solo experience, which you can complete, similar to the predecessor, there will also be additional (partly free, partly paid) DLCs for part 2.
Those who purchase the Gold or Collector’s Edition of KCD2 will automatically receive the expansion pass, granting access to all planned content for the year. Below you can see the trailer for the post-launch roadmap:
The best is saved for last
This is what the roadmap for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 looks like:
- Spring 2025: Free updates such as a hardcore mode, horse racing, and a barber feature (at the barber, you can customize Heinrich’s appearance)
- Summer 2025: Encounters with Death – In this adventure, Heinrich helps a mysterious artist with his dark past. In the lands, you will face dangerous encounters and unravel a web of intrigue.
- Autumn 2025: The Forge’s Legacy – Here Heinrich confronts his roots and explores the legacy of his adoptive father Martin. While restoring the once-famous forge and proving his skill in the art of blacksmithing, he uncovers a forgotten story from the past.
- Winter 2025: Mysteria Ecclesia – At the Sedletz monastery, there are numerous intrigues. Heinrich is tasked with a covert mission and must uncover hidden truths and navigate through a labyrinth of conflicting interests.
In addition to these highlights, there will regularly be free tweaks and “Quality of Life” updates to enhance the gaming experience.
What does the community say about this? In several posts on Reddit, each with over 1,000 upvotes, many players celebrate the announcement. Many fans of the first part are especially excited about the covert monastery mission – something similar was already present in Kingdom Come Deliverance.
- NorthImage3550 posts a picture of the monastery mission and briefly adds on Reddit: “Game of the Year”
- RedIndianRobin is looking forward to Reddit: “I absolutely loved the monastery part in the first game. Sue me!”
- JayPhilter has fresh memories (via Reddit): “I am currently in my first playthrough to finish it before KCD2 comes out, and I had this quest today. I think I spent more time in the monastery prison than with the actual monk stuff, just because I accidentally went into the kitchen for a second or because I wasn’t on time for dinner.”
- cellander celebrates on Reddit: “Mysterious monk diseases in the monastery? Count me in! I liked the environment in Sasau.”
What was special about the quest? For the quest “Needle in a Haystack” of the main story, you had to infiltrate a monastery as a novice to locate a man named Pius. However, your mission is complicated by the need to adhere to the daily routine of the monks – with prayers, communal meals, work tasks, and bedtime.
If caught violating this strict daily schedule, you can expect warnings and even prison sentences. Just with this quest, players could spend hours.
