The world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is vast, and those traveling on foot will take a long time to explore it. We will show you how to quickly and, most importantly, for free, acquire a horse.
Why is a horse important? Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 throws you into 15th-century Bohemia. The game world is divided into two regions and is quite large. With a horse, you can get from A to B faster and also store parts of your equipment or found loot in the saddlebag.
At the beginning of the game, you lose your beloved horse Pebbles, which was already a loyal companion in the first part. There are two methods to quickly find it again. Either through the main quest or through a shortcut.
Finding the Horse During the Main Quest
How do you find the horse? After you have completed the prologue, Heinrich finds himself alone and with only a few belongings in the village of Troskowitz. There, the main quest continues.
The mission that leads you to Pebbles is called “Unloaded Wedding Guests.” In the tavern of Troskowitz, you meet a miller and a blacksmith. To find Pebbles, talk to the blacksmith Radovan. He will send you on a mission to find a cart along with goods that has set off towards Semin. Upon arriving in Semin, talk to Herr Semin, who wants to get to the bottom of the matter.
For this, you will need a horse. You will be sent to the stables of Semin and must speak with the NPC Ballatay. Ask for a “cheap horse” and try to convince him with “be sensible.”
If successful, you will receive a free horse. It turns out to be Pebbles. You now have a horse and will travel faster from then on.
However, there is an even simpler way.
Finding the Horse Without a Quest
What is the alternative? You can also ignore the main quest and go directly to Semin to the stables. Talk to the stable boy as usual. If your persuasion skills are high enough, you can convince him that Pebbles was stolen from you. Alternatively, you can put pressure on him or reclaim the horse with some coins.
There is a third option: If Pebbles is not important to you, you can simply steal any horse. However, be careful not to be seen, otherwise, you will have problems with the guards.
Additionally, a stolen horse is not automatically yours permanently. Unlike Pebbles, a randomly stolen animal does not come back to you when you whistle. Unless you spend coins at the merchant Mikolai in the nomad camp to transfer ownership of the horse to yourself.
To avoid problems, we strongly recommend going for Pebbles. Whether you follow the main quest faithfully or head straight to Semin is up to you. The second method is certainly more practical since it’s faster. For more guides about the game, feel free to visit MeinMMO: Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Guides: All tips and tricks at a glance
