Tip 5: Fight properly
Speaking of fights: For beginners, it is recommended to let the opponent act – whether in bare-knuckle fighting or with a weapon. Wait for their attack, block it, and then counterattack from the side. This way, you can win many duels without taking a hit.
When fighting multiple enemies, make sure to position yourself correctly. It is best if the enemy closest to you is between you and the other opponents. Tight spots like doorways can help you defeat even a large number of enemies.
Equally important: Keep an eye on your stamina. If you overdo it with constant attacks, you will become exhausted and become vulnerable. So take short breaks in time, during which you focus on precise blocking until the stamina bar has regenerated.

Tip 6: Practice, practice, practice
Whether it’s about fighting, lock-picking, riding, or a craft: You improve your skills by actively practicing. For example, if you want to quickly open heavy or very heavy locks from chests or doors, start with very light, light, and medium locks to gradually boost your lock-picking skill.
With potions, you can temporarily boost skills or character strength to at least somewhat compensate for the missing practice.
Also, visit teachers who can teach you useful lessons for money or read books before sleeping to improve certain skills. By the way, you should practice pickpocketing best on sleeping or heavily intoxicated victims at the beginning. This minimizes the chance of getting caught.
Tip 7: No “afk” when fast traveling
With a comfortable fast-travel function, long distances to already explored areas can be shortened. Note that fast travel also costs in-game time and lowers your fitness and satiety values. You should also not go afk during the journey, as an event such as a robbery can happen at any time.
