Tip 1: Save as often as possible
Save whenever possible. Unlike many other games, this is not always and everywhere possible. In addition, Kingdom Come 2 only automatically creates save points when accepting quests and at certain progression points. If you rely only on these, you might lose a lot of gameplay time unexpectedly.
For a manual save, you need the consumable item “Retterschnaps”, which you can brew, buy, find, or steal. Alternatively, you can sleep in a designated or rented bed to make a save. Or you can visit a bathhouse and get yourself and your clothes in order – saving included.
If the bed and bathhouse are too far away and you’ve drunk all the Retterschnaps, you can still create a save point by “ending the game and saving”. This was not possible in the predecessor from 2018 at least at release.
Tip 2: Time is a factor
Kingdom Come 2 takes place in a simulated world with day and night cycles, where the inhabitants go about their daily lives – sleeping, working, eating, drinking, and so on. Therefore, always pay attention to whether you need to complete quests at a certain time or by a certain deadline.
Always prioritize all time-critical missions. It should also be clear that theft runs and stealth missions are best completed at night. You can minimize longer waiting times with the fast-forward function, which you call up on PC with the shortcut T.
