Keyboards are among the devices that are most frequently customized. There are keyboards in different sizes, various key switches for gaming keyboards, and also keycaps in many variations.
A company has now introduced a keyboard that you can assemble like Lego. Here, you screw all the parts onto the mainboard yourself and insert the keys. However, the price starts at 250 euros and additional upgrades come at a significant extra cost.
Company offers modular keyboard for 250 euros
Who has introduced what? The company Work Louder offers keyboards that you can fully customize. The keyboard consists of a total of 3 main keyboards that you can arrange and insert on the mainboard yourself.
The set consists of a plate for the main part of the keyboard, as well as a nano pad and a loop pad. These individual sections can then be equipped with different keys or buttons, depending on what you want to do with the keyboard later.
You can also buy additional keys or buttons through the shop, which you can also mount on one of the three keyboards. For the starter set of the base keyboard and the board, Work Louder charges around 250 euros.
If you want the whole package, including all three keyboards and additional keys, it will cost 400 US dollars (about 380 euros). This is quite a bit of money for customization.
Not a real product for gamers, but rather aimed at creative individuals
Who is the keyboard actually aimed at? Primarily, Work Louder targets creators and developers. The manufacturer offers some keys and buttons that are more work-oriented. For example, there are keys with a paintbrush or other symbols that you might recognize from Photoshop.
The layout of the keyboard may also be unusual for gamers. The keys are, unlike standard keyboards, not recessed but lie straight in line. The space bar is noticeably smaller, and keys like CTRL, Shift, or the Tab key are also smaller.
However, many of these keys are of course also suitable for apps and games, allowing you to program corresponding macros. While the product does not specifically target gamers, Work Louder has stated that you can adjust the RGB lighting.
