The action-comedy strikes a good balance between action and comedy, largely thanks to the chemistry of the two main actors. Schwarzenegger was already known for hard-hitting action in films like Conan the Barbarian or Terminator, but also for comedies like Twins or Kindergarten Cop.
As Collider reports, James Cameron recalled a particular day when a stunt with Schwarzenegger went wrong. Due to the failed stunt, the actor had to wear a dog bone, a type of collar brace for support around his neck. Subsequently, the actor was referred to by director James Cameron as The Village Idiot
.
In another stunt during the film, the situation was not so funny and Schwarzenegger could have seriously injured himself.
In one scene of the film, Schwarzenegger chases the bad guys on a police horse through a hotel. The actor then flies over the horse and hangs onto an edge but is pulled back up by the horse.
During the shoot, the camera arm fell on the horse’s nose, causing the animal to go wild. Schwarzenegger quickly jumped off the horse and was pulled out by a stuntman. If he or the stuntmen had reacted slower, things could have gone much worse.
