In Destiny 2, players are currently discussing strange voices. Are the Guardians going insane, or is someone really whispering in their ears?
What is it about? Guardian MPSlowy recently posted a video of strange voices he claims to have heard during gameplay in various situations in the Destiny subreddit. In the post, the player states that he is sure he is not crazy and that he has heard the voices for quite some time.
Back then, he was sure that the murmur was just background noise. Now, however, that he has been able to record the voice, he is certain that it could mean something.
Several players responded to the post and stated that they also heard the murmurs in Destiny 2.
Where are players hearing the voices? MPSlowy himself claims that he heard the voices while his character was wearing the Dreaming City Armor Set. This could imply a connection to the Dreaming City and the Curse of Ahamkara Riven.
In the video, the voice reportedly said “I saw what happened” – in German “Ich sah, was passiert ist”. MPSlowy connects this with the end of the Forsaken campaign.
Back then, our Guardian and Petra Venj aimed their weapons at Uldren Sov. The screen went black when shots were fired. Whether our Guardian, Petra, or both pulled the trigger is still a widely discussed topic among players.
Did someone else see who pulled the trigger and wants to unsettle our Guardian with this information?
Other players, however, report that they also hear the voices and that it has nothing to do with Riven. Rather, they believe that the Cabal might be behind it.
According to some players, they hear the whispers particularly in areas with Cabal or at Cabal objects. The voices are said to be frequently heard throughout the Leviathan, the Cabal raid in orbit around Nessus.
However, players say they have never heard the murmurs as clearly as in MPSlowy’s video.
Does it relate to the new season? Some players believe that the voices represent a connection between the Leviathan and the Darkness. According to them, the voices sound similar to those that could be heard in Destiny 1 in the Crota raid.
They hope for clarity in the upcoming Season of Opulence, which starts on June 4. Then it’s back to the Leviathan. Calus, the Lord of the Leviathan, claimed to have encountered the Darkness on the outskirts of the universe.
Another theory connects the two thoughts. It could be about Calus and Ahamkara: Players want to have found hints that Calus might have a wish dragon or is being influenced by one.
In the Cabal booklet, included in the Collector’s Edition of Destiny 2, Calus invites our Guardians to his ship and uses the phrase “oh champion mine”. “Oh my” phrases are always associated with wish dragons Ahamkara in the Destiny universe.
