Grand Hierophant Khatep
He is the religious head of the priest council of the cult of the dead, the Grand Hierophant. Unlike the kings of Nehekhara, he is immortal, but not truly undead. Because his body still ages, he looks like a walking corpse.
His skin is incredibly thin, his body completely emaciated, and his back bent under the weight of the years. Nevertheless, Khatep is still a powerful wizard and an important member of the cult of the dead, as he knows all its secrets and unwritten laws.
Here you can see some of the most powerful constructs fighting for the Tomb Kings on the battlefield:
He was also the one who, fearing a civil war among the Tomb Kings, brought Settra back from the dead. However, he was very angry with the cult of the dead, which had not fulfilled the promise of a golden future for the realm – and even more, almost led to the total destruction of Nehekhara.
In his anger, Settra banished Khatep. He was forbidden to set foot in any of the larger cities until he could fulfill the ancient promise of the cult of the dead. Khatep has diligently taken on this task. Since his exile, he has been rummaging through the great deserts of the Old World searching for scrolls and artifacts that might help him find the path to true immortality.
