In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 you can choose whether you prefer to act in light, agile, or heavy plate armor. There is a significant difference between the two types of armor – not only in the effectiveness of the protection.
How do armors work in KDC2?
- A complete armor set consists of up to 16 individual parts, including a helmet, gloves, or a neck guard.
- Each part of your armor affects your stats, with each armor piece having a different distribution. For example, armor can influence your charisma, speed, visibility, or conspicuousness.
- Armor has its own weight. Therefore, your strength stat must be high enough if you want to carry a lot of heavy armor.
- Armors wear out over time, especially through combat. However, you can patch up damaged armor with repair kits or have it repaired by a blacksmith.
A clanking metal frame cannot be stealthy
What is the gigantic difference? Of course, heavy armor offers significantly more protection and should be your choice if you often get involved in fights and take a hit or two.
Light armor, on the other hand, is much quieter and therefore the better choice if you want to proceed stealthily – for example when acquiring quest items or during the daily activities of a thief. Since money and food are particularly scarce at the beginning of the game, thievery is an important approach you should master.
The extent of the difference between the types of armor is demonstrated by the user “NukovYT” in a short video on YouTube:
If you want to stealthily pocket a stranger’s goods at night, you should preferably slip into light fabric clothing. Movements in heavy armor are much louder and thus attract the unwanted attention of potential witnesses.
If you don’t care about witnesses because you’re going to draw your sword and demonstrate your strength to any observer, you can of course still opt for the clanking metal frame.
Once you have found the right armor for your purposes, it is up to you to successfully carry out your planned approach. Thieves should take several things into account, as not only the armor determines whether you are successful at stealing or get caught.
