Are aliens about to invade Fortnite: Battle Royale? Leaks suggest that players may soon receive visitors from distant galaxies after the latest update.
What are these leaks? Often after updates, dataminers find new hints in the game data about elements that might appear in Fortnite sooner or later. This is the case today: The new update 16.50 has been deployed in Fortnite and the dataminers have begun their search.
Such leaks should always be taken with caution, as it’s never certain whether the found elements will appear in the game as-is, differently, or not at all. However, in the past, dataminers have often been correct with their findings.
At the same time, a few hints in the game already indicate an upcoming visit from the aliens.
These hints of aliens in Fortnite exist
This is visible in the game: Since the new update, there are several posters in Sweaty Sands that focus on the alien theme. Seven humans and seven aliens are lined up together around the globe.
At the same time, the cornfield in Colossal Crops has been mowed down. Fans on the Fortnite subreddit are already speculating that this location could be preparing for the landing of UFOs – and possibly crop circles may appear in the field.
These theories are supported by the findings of several dataminers.
What dataminers found: Among other things, the “Foreshadowing” quest series has already started, which involves mysterious occurrences on the island. Players are supposed to repair damaged telescopes for Bunker Jonesy – the NPC suspects that someone wants to prevent them from looking towards the stars.
During the quest, crop circles, as known from aliens, are also supposed to play a role (via Fortnite Intel).
Further leaks indicate UFOs that are intended to move over the map. Fortnite dataminer “Hypex” discovered an animation that could be triggered when players are “abducted” by the UFO. Additionally, the dataminer found various sound files that would fit the UFO-and-aliens theme:
With “Mang0e” (via Twitter), another dataminer found hints of alien abductions that would fit a new event called “Harvest”.
It is speculated that there will be multiple stages of alien signs and abductions that hint at a possible invasion.
However, these leaks should still be taken with caution at this point. How and especially when aliens could play a role is still open. However, it seems that the first seeds have already been sown.
What is certain is that Season 6 of Fortnite, Chapter 2, is slowly coming to an end. An alien invasion would definitely be an event that would fit well into the previous season transitions of Fortnite.
