In Fortnite: Something big is happening in Battle Royale soon. The iceberg has partially collapsed and the monster is likely now free. What it is doing, however, remains unclear. Is something new coming to E3?
What is the deal with the monster? For some time now, something has been happening with the large iceberg at Polar Peaks. At the start of Season 9, a lava rock crashed there, and shortly after, players spotted a massive eye hiding behind the ice that follows the player.
Since then, players have been eagerly waiting to see when the monster, to which the eye belongs, will be released and what that means for Fortnite. It was probably not a Godzilla crossover with the new movie. But now there are hints of something else.

Was there a cat in the iceberg?
Here are the hints about the monster: Dataminers have now found further clues about the nature of the monster in the ice:
This is what happened: After dataminers had already found some initial hints about the monster’s escape, the creature actually became free on June 6th. It has destroyed parts of the iceberg and the castle and left footprints near the former Greasy Grove.
No one has seen the monster, so we don’t know what it looks like, where it is right now, or what it intends to do.
That’s why the monster could be a cat: Several hints recently pointed to a cat monster that will soon be released from the ice. On the one hand, the name “Cattus” means nothing more than “cat” in Latin.
And then players report hearing a sort of meow when they approached the eye at Polar Peak. In the embedded video here, you can listen for yourself.
You can hear Cattus when it’s eye locks on to you. from r/FortNiteBR
However, other players believe it is more likely the roar of a monster from the Godzilla universe. Also, the eye did not really look like a cat’s eye.
When will we know more? Since Epic usually releases big events on weekends, it could happen tomorrow, Saturday, June 8, 2019. That would also be just in time for the start of the first press conferences of the major gaming fair E3 in Los Angeles.
It is therefore quite conceivable that a new, major event, where you fight together against a huge monster, will take place at E3, thus giving Epic even more attention and players.
