After the first season of the anime Dandadan received positive feedback from viewers, the stories featuring Okarun and Momo will continue in a second season. A new trailer shows that at least one thing will remain the same – the level of craziness.
What can we see in the new trailer? The new trailer primarily focuses on the Yokai Evil Eye. It possesses Momo’s childhood friend Jiji and clashes with protagonist Okarun, who, in turn, uses the powers of Turbo Granny.
Evil Eye threatens protagonist Momo, which Okarun does not appreciate at all. But alongside some fight scenes, there are other crazy sequences to see:
- A volcano erupts and lava threatens the characters
- The protagonists find themselves in a maid café and spread a lot of love
- There are also quiet moments where Momo simply hugs Okarun
It’s no wonder that in the Reddit forum, a user thinks that Dandadan collects “genre tags like Dragonballs.” The anime tends to take a different direction with each episode – even in season 1, there was an episode that brought viewers to tears, despite the otherwise crazy nature of the anime.
Dandadan fans wish for a theater premiere
How is it received by the fans? The top comment in the Reddit forum perfectly summarizes what many think: At first, one would wonder what the hell is going on in the trailer until realizing that it is Dandadan – so nothing special for the anime.
Other users, on the other hand, say that season 1 is just the warm-up. “Dandadan is just getting crazier,” writes user actionfirst1. Many are also looking forward to the episode with the maid café.
Another fan writes that the first three episodes will be a true highlight and wishes he could watch them on the big screen. As another user explains, that is even possible.
When does Season 2 come out? Season 2 of Dandadan will premiere on July 3, 2025 (via ADN on X). The anime can be seen on Crunchyroll and ADN, each with its own German dubbing.
For those who want to see the first three episodes beforehand, there is an opportunity: On June 10, 2025, the 93-minute premiere including bonus material will be shown in theaters. Here, the original Japanese audio with German subtitles will be available. All information about the tickets can be found here: All Animes coming to theaters in Germany in 2025
