Only the expansions “Heart of Thorns”, “Path of Fire”, “End of Dragons”, “Secrets of the Obscure”, and most recently “Janthir Wilds” need to be purchased to experience new areas and some new features. Until that point, the free-to-play version is more than sufficient to gain a good impression of the game.

The game world is very vast and filled with secrets, including numerous “jump&run” sequences. Explorers and collectors will be completely satisfied here. Additionally, Guild Wars 2 has some bizarre classes, such as the Mesmer or Engineer – variety is guaranteed.

However, if you want to commit only to Guild Wars 2, you can easily get lost in the hunt for rare skins, special challenges, or small details on the maps.
