Starfield celebrates its release on September 6. If you are still unsure whether you should try the SciFi RPG, MeinMMO will happily help you with the decision.
What kind of game is Starfield? A new SciFi RPG from Bethesda and the first new game universe from the developer studio in over 20 years. It follows in the footsteps of gaming giants like Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Fallout 4, but brings its own charm.
Starfield will be released on PC (Steam / Xbox App) and for the Xbox Series X|S, but not for the PS5 – although it almost became an exclusive title for PlayStation.
If you are still unsure whether Starfield is worth your time and money, we have prepared a list of 10 questions here that can help you make the decision.

If you answer at least 7 of these statements with “Yes” or “Maybe,” you should definitely take a look at Starfield:
- Are you subscribers of Xbox Game Pass?
- Have you celebrated previous Bethesda games (Fallout, Elder Scrolls)?
- Are you passionate about science fiction and have you seen all TV series that start with “Star”?
- Do you enjoy story-focused games and like to chat with NPCs?
- Are extensive visual and gameplay options when developing your character important to you?
- You do not find it tiring to hear that the world of Starfield offers 1,000 planets?
- The idea of assembling your own spaceship including a crew excites you?
- Games do not always have to deliver one action scene after another?
- Do you appreciate the feeling of freedom to go in any direction after the introduction?
- Good games do not need a multiplayer mode?
Especially the release on Xbox Game Pass reduces the barrier to take a closer look at the SciFi RPG: The pass costs 10 euros on PC and 11 euros for Xbox. If you have friends with Game Pass and have never been a subscriber, you can get 14 free trial days.
Who is Starfield for? If you enjoy long, expansive games with a lot of story in which you can still discover secrets years after the release, then the SciFi RPG is definitely for you. Even before the release, it is clear: Starfield has no respect for your time and will do everything to entertain you for a long time and keep you glued to the screen.
Who is Starfield not for? If you are more of a fan of short-lived action like many indie games such as Vampire Survivors or a shooter campaign like in Call of Duty, then Starfield might bore you. There are lengthy quests, you can catalog animals and plants on planets, and you can chat with NPCs for hours. Does that sound off-putting? Then Starfield is probably not for you.
How big Starfield will be is not yet assessable. The main story is said to be about 20% longer than in all previous Bethesda titles. Without distraction, around 30 to 40 hours are expected.
In addition, there are countless side quests, you can build ships, establish outposts, befriend strangers or shoot them down.
