On Steam, you can currently register for the playtest of Sand. This is a PvPvE game set in an open desert world, where you battle using heavily armored sand walkers.
What do I need to know about Sand? Do you know the movie Mortal Engines: War of the Cities, which was co-written by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy)? In that (not really recommendable) film, heavily fortified cities stomp through a post-apocalyptic desert world fighting for the remaining resources.
You can expect something similar in the game Sand, just in a lighter version. Instead of entire cities, you control much more manageable robot tanks with four or six legs, which you design yourself and which serve as a mobile base. In this hostile world, you can find valuable resources and treasures, as well as monuments and mysterious anomalies.

While exploring the world, you will encounter not only PvE challenges but also other players – similar to in the matches of Hunt: Showdown. You can fight enemies with the guns of your walker or in good old first-person shooter style.
In combat against other players’ walkers, you may resort to C4 charges or airstrikes that you detonate from a safe distance. Or you grab your shotgun and shoot the owners of the stomping fortress out of existence.

How can I register for the playtest? On the Steam page of Sand, you will currently find an option to request access for the current test of the online shooter. New registrations are expected to go out as soon as the developers allow more participants.
By the way, there is currently no specific release date for the game. However, the announcement is expected soon.
