Once Human is the new survival game on Steam, but with its resets, many players are unsure whether they should get started now. We show you whether it is worth it to dive in right away.
What are server resets? In some games, there are so-called server resets, also called wipes. These resets, which players from Escape from Tarkov and now also Once Human are confronted with, delete your server progress to a certain extent in order to bring all players up to the same level when a new season starts.
In Once Human, a season lasts up to 6 weeks and since the first one is ending soon, new fans are wondering if it is worth it to jump into the new survival game now. We provide an answer to this question.
It is worth it, even if you only play for one day
Your progress is saved: In Once Human, your progress for many things in the game world is saved. Currencies, blueprints for equipment, and progress in your quests will be transferred to the new season.
This means that if you have already made progress on one day, it will also be carried over to the new season. You will only lose items that can be quickly obtained in the world of Once Human. So it is worth it to start as a newcomer before a reset to get a feel for the survival game.
What can I keep after the reset? While players in Escape from Tarkov lose almost everything, the wipe in Once Human works differently. The developers want to ensure that fans do not grind in vain. You will retain the following items and things even after a reset:
- Important currencies: Starchroms, Crystgins, Mitsuko’s Marks, Stellar Planula, and Sproutlets
- Blueprints of your equipment (and their stars), fragments of blueprints, accessories of your weapons, and mods
- Blueprints of furniture (except those obtained from the Memetics)
- Cosmetic items, emotes and poses, name tags, and more
- Blueprints of your houses: If you have saved your building in a blueprint, you can reconstruct it anytime.
- Progress of tasks in the main and side story (for tasks you have already completed, you can accept simplified versions in the new season but still receive all rewards).
- Your friends list
The remaining items that you cannot keep end up in the Eternaland – a world where all your items are collected and do not disappear.
