In Fortnite, skins are the most important aspect of the entire Battle Royale. Many players shine and show off with old, rare, and original skins. Now, the community sees poor prospects for 2022 regarding skin variations. We will show you more about it.
What’s the problem? On reddit, the community expresses its frustration over the ongoing reskin wave. Many new skin packs or offers from the item shop are reskins. These are original and popular outfits that are recolored and sold as new.
The current situation does not bode well for players. The Christmas event usually offered many cool and new outfit options that could be purchased in the item shop. However, in 2021, the offerings look overwhelming, even though Epic had prepared two skins to address the problem.

Epic Games held a concept contest from June 12 to July 15. There, fans of the shooter had the opportunity to showcase their creativity in the form of self-designed skins. Epic also offered a prize of $2,500 and the implementation in the game for the winter event 2021.

As the winter event has now been released and leakers have revealed all new skins in the item shop and in the gifts, it becomes apparent that there is no trace of community ideas. Neither in the codes nor as leaked content do the concepts appear.
However, many reskins can be found. As a package offer in the item shop, but also in the data for the two free winter festival outfits.
Why Epic decided to release copies instead of the creative and new options from the community is unclear. However, the fact is that players have had enough of it and can no longer stand seeing these copies.
What do the players say about it? The community can no longer stand such copies. Many think they understand Epic’s intention behind it.
There are newcomers who have seen various models in skin lists that are interesting but cannot be earned because they are locked behind old battle passes.

It’s the consequence of the business model “FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)”. That’s why I am neutral towards reskins, as this is an indirect consequence of this poorly constructed system.
