Whether building now needs changes to become popular again is in the eye of the beholder. Both modes have their pros and cons. But since Epic is now leaving it to players to choose how they want to play, players who never got along with building can finally thrive in the colorful BR shooter.
What do you think about Fortnite now having two main modes? Do you think it’s good that Epic wants to cater to everyone? Or does it undermine Fortnite’s hallmark? Let us know in the comments!
In Fortnite, Epic has now gotten serious and introduced the No-Build mode firmly into the Battle Royale shooter along with building. The community is divided on which mode is the best, but Tfue and Ninja have a clear opinion on it.
What happened to Fortnite? In Fortnite, after the release of Season 2 in Chapter 3, building stopped. The underground organization “Imagined Order” found a way to disable building, and players could not immerse themselves in build battles for weeks.
However, this didn’t concern many, as even old pros like Tfue and Ninja jumped back on the hype train and gave Fortnite another chance. Now that building has been reactivated, we show you how the pros and the community feel about it.
Building or Zero-Build? How the pros decide
What does Ninja think about it? Ninja appeared in Fortnite mainly sporadically. He occasionally streamed a few matches but without a real focus on it. However, when he learned that Fortnite had disabled the sweaty building, he wanted to test how the Battle Royale feels. He mentioned on Twitter that he finally had fun in Fortnite again after a long time (via Twitter).
Additionally, he conducted a survey on Twitter on March 25, with 242,974 users participating. He wanted to clarify what players were most interested in – building or no building.
The result was clear, with 74.2% of the votes (as of April 4, 8:58 PM), the majority favored the No-Build mode.
What does Tfue say about it? Tfue was also considered one of the best players in Fortnite. He participated in many tournaments and showcased his skills in Battle Royale. However, he lost interest in Fortnite and started streaming other games.
With the change to the Zero-Build mode, he has also become eager to once again make an impact on the battlefield. Excited and driven by the new freshness of the shooter, he even participated in the Twitch Rivals.
In this stream event, Fortnite was played without building. A total of $100,000 was up for grabs. In the end, even aim pro Tfue and his team won and placed first.
What does the community say about it? Opinions are divided despite the compromise that two separate modes now exist. Some players are happy that Epic offers fans alternatives to play, as they never got along with building.
Still, building is defended, and Twitter user JustmeRclol claims the problem lies elsewhere:
I will reveal the facts to you all: The problem was never and still isn’t building. The problem is that the “sweats” have a complete mode for themselves, also known as Arena, but prefer to play in public modes because they don’t want to improve their skills against players who are better than they are.
