Is FIFA 19 worth it for players who primarily play Pro Clubs? EA Sports provides few arguments. There are neither innovations nor extensive improvements.
Nothing changes in Pro Clubs: At Gamescom 2018, EA Sports announced that there will be practically no innovations in the popular modes “Career” and “Pro Clubs”. While a few fresh contents were mentioned for Career Mode, like the introduction of the Champions League, they remained completely silent on Pro Clubs.
Pro Clubs without Champions League: Not even the Champions League, which otherwise runs through all modes in FIFA 19, will be integrated into Pro Clubs. This was confirmed by Gamespot in a conversation with gameplay producer Sam Rivera. In fact, there will be no changes of any kind, according to Gamespot, in the club mode of FIFA 19 compared to FIFA 18.
Is there even a point in buying FIFA 19 for Pro Clubs players?
No changes, no new features in Pro Clubs
No new modes: Weeks and months ago, club fans created lists of innovations they want for the long-stale Pro Clubs mode in FIFA 19. These included new modes, more interaction options, more customization options, and much more. However, FIFA 19 will proceed as before. You can play online seasons, cup matches, or casual matches – that’s it.
Are there also no new customizations? Early beta testers confirmed that nothing will change in Pro Clubs. Not even the menu has been altered:
The player attributes that you unlock with skill points are still the same as in the predecessor, and no new customization options for the Pro could be found – things like hairstyles. Only a few new shoes were discovered:
Some fans are now wondering whether FIFA 19 is even worth it for them. After all, one could just continue playing FIFA 18 if they only want to play Pro Clubs, right?
Pro Clubs still has a few improvements
Is nothing really changing in Pro Clubs? Aside from a few new shoes, nothing specific is changing in Pro Clubs, no. However, the club mode benefits from some innovations that affect FIFA 19 as a whole – namely the gameplay and graphics.
With the gameplay innovations this year, a new optional shooting system will be introduced that allows you to hit the goal more reliably if you have good timing. In addition, the Active Touch System elevates ball control and reception to a higher level, and the 50/50 Battles feature ensures that players on the field fight more intensely for the ball and display a “true instinct”.
Moreover, EA Sports is adjusting the graphics a bit and integrating new player animations for more realism.
The new league licenses and the new stadiums can also be chosen in Pro Clubs.
Is FIFA 19 worth it for me if I mainly play Pro Clubs?
FIFA 19 is not worth it if
- You expect many innovations and “more to do” in Pro Clubs
- You exclusively play Pro Clubs and don’t care about other modes
- You don’t need the latest FIFA every year, but enjoy sticking with one FIFA for several years. FIFA 19 offers too few arguments for Pro Clubs alone
- You are satisfied with FIFA 18’s gameplay and can wait for coming years until there are more changes in Pro Clubs
- You mainly care about playing with your friends in Pro Clubs, who are all sticking with FIFA 18
FIFA 19 is worth it if
- You also play other modes like FUT, The Journey, or Kick-off alongside Pro Clubs
- You want to experience the latest gameplay innovations with fresh skill moves and new celebration animations in FIFA 19
- You absolutely want to wear the logos and kits of the new teams introduced in FIFA 19
- You want to stay up to date and don’t want to endure longer matchmaking in previous FIFA titles
- You mainly care about playing with your friends in Pro Clubs, who are all buying FIFA 19

Pro Clubs urgently needs innovations
Pro Clubs fans have been complaining for years that EA Sports is letting the club mode wither away. There is so much untapped potential in this mode, as is often read in the forums. After all, Pro Clubs offers the largest online experience of the FIFA series.
Consequently, fans are now frustrated and angry that nothing will change in FIFA 19.
EA is listening: Sam Rivera informed that they are listening to the fans. They know they are very passionate and expect more and bigger things for Pro Clubs. Currently, there are discussions at EA about what to add to the mode in the future. But that’s all he could say about new Pro Clubs at this time.
