The popular FUT player Heung Min Son (25) from Tottenham Hotspur in FIFA 18 may have his last appearance in FIFA 19. The reason for this are South Korea’s military service regulations.
South Korea, Germany’s last group opponent, has a big star: Heung Min Son. He is not only popular in his homeland, but everyone wants to have his FUT card in FIFA 18.
But Son fans should maybe cheer for South Korea instead of Germany tonight. Otherwise, we might see the Premier League winger for the last time in FIFA 19.
Son Faces Military Service
In South Korea, every man must serve. By the age of 28, every South Korean must have completed the mandatory military service lasting at least 21 months. Many of Son’s national team colleagues have already done this at a younger age.
Son Chose His Career. Instead of going to the military, the former Hamburger preferred to pursue his steep football career. After his stints in the Bundesliga with HSV and Bayer 04, he moved to the Premier League to Tottenham Hotspur. The soon-to-be 26-year-old, however, still has to complete his military service.
International Success as a Way Out. There is a way out: Son must achieve great success with the South Korean national team. This includes performing well in a World Cup or, as a last resort, winning the Asian Games in the fall.
FIFA Ultimate Team: Why is it Important for FIFA Players?
Heung Min Son is a popular FUT card. Especially in FIFA 17, but also in FIFA 18, Son was one of the most popular players overall. Every one of his special cards was in demand and he could almost always be found in Premier League teams. It’s no wonder that the Korean was nicknamed “Sonaldo” by the community in reference to CR7.
The comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo is quite justified when looking at the stats. Son’s card is even cheaper (340k on PS4) than CR7’s (370k).
What Makes Him Special in FIFA?
- Two-footed: 5 stars on the weak foot is his greatest strength. This makes him unpredictable in the attack and able to shoot from anywhere.
- Skillful: 4-star skills and a good dribbling stat add to his surprise potential in attack.
- Speed: 86 speed on his 83-rated card is already good, and with his numerous special cards, he reaches the 90s range.
- Shooting: Especially his finishing (84) and long shots (87) stand out. He can score from almost anywhere – and this is already evident with his regular gold card.
- Physicality: 1.83m is extremely tall for such a fast, skillful player. He also has a stamina of 81, which allows him to last the entire game.
As you can see, his FIFA card is very strong. Many FUT fans would not be pleased if Heung Min Son had to pause his career, causing his card to disappear from FIFA. But will that be enough to cheer the South Koreans on in the match against Germany?
