On June 2, at 7:00 PM, the highly anticipated MMO Diablo Immortal was released and can be played for free by anyone who owns a mobile phone (or a PC). But should you even play the game? In the short MeinMMO check, you will find out if Diablo Immortal is something for you.
What is Diablo Immortal? Originally presented at BlizzCon as a pure mobile game for smartphones and mobile phones, Diablo Immortal initially received a lot of backlash from the community. However, it is now known that you can also play the new Diablo on PC. The first beta testers are also enthusiastic about the game and the fans are increasingly engaging with it.
Some of the basic features of Diablo Immortal include:

When and where exactly does Diablo Immortal launch? On Thursday, June 2, at 7:00 PM, the servers for the MMO are supposed to go live. Then you can play the game on Android, iOS, and PC. Here, however, the PC already has a first advantage, as you can download Diablo Immortal via BattleNet right now, so you can jump right in.
There will be no preload for the mobile versions of the game. Nonetheless, the developers promise that Diablo Immortal has been built with the “smartphone-first” idea in mind. This means that you can experience the game on PC and also use crossplay and cross-save features, but it is primarily a game for Android and iOS.

Diablo Immortal – What’s inside?
Why should I check this out? Especially fans of the previous Diablo titles should also take a look at Immortal, but it’s not just the previous fans that the mobile MMO attracts. Immortal is further moving towards being an MMORPG than its predecessors and could therefore also be interesting for fans of this genre.
But what do you actually do there all day? The gameplay experience of Diablo Immortal focuses on the following content:
- A campaign of about ten hours and even more story that you can discover in the world
- Rifts and bounties that do not only appear in the endgame but accompany you even while leveling
- Dungeons for 4 players
- Raids at various difficulties for 8 players
- Special raids where the so-called Immortal can fight with 48 players
- Completely optional PvP designed for clans and groups
The Cycle of Strife: What is this, you may ask? Rightly so. Because behind the initially rather strange name lies the biggest feature of Diablo Immortal. In the Cycle of Strife, two factions are constantly fighting against each other. The ruling Immortals and the Shadows, who try to overthrow them. In this process, the respective clans battle in huge PvP battles.
In this scenario, the Shadows can attempt to overthrow the Immortals once a week. If they win enough rounds, they can attack the Immortal’s boss. This leads to an epic battle where a player from the Immortals actually becomes the raid boss. In a 30 against 1 battle, the Immortal must then be defeated, which gains incredibly strong abilities to defend itself.
If the Shadows manage to overthrow the Immortals, they will become the new Immortals. As such, you will also have access to special dungeons and 48-player raids.
Immortal reshapes the class system
How do the classes work? Here one immediately thinks of an MMORPG, namely Final Fantasy XIV. In Immortal, you only need one character and can play every available class with this one. However, it doesn’t work as simply as you might be used to in other MMORPGs.
Initially, the class switch is supposed to be time-limited and may work every week or every month. The exact limit is still being determined and may change accordingly.
What classes are available? There are 6 classes to choose from that were already in Diablo 3:
- Necromancer
- Crusader
- Demon Hunter
- Monk
- Barbarian
- Wizard
Additionally, leakers have already found hints in the game files for a completely new class. The Blood Knight is said to become a kind of melee vampire, but it is not confirmed yet.

How and where can you play? On most common PCs and smartphones, Diablo Immortal should run quite smoothly. We will show you once again what exactly you need at a minimum to play the MMO.
