The creators of Aion are hiring developers for a new game. What is being created in Korea?
NCSoft is hiring new employees: The Korean game giant NCSoft is looking for new employees with a job posting for a “strictly secret MMORPG.” It is intended to be a next-generation MMORPG based on Aion.
Aion 2 – is that possible, or is something else coming?
There is currently no detailed information about the upcoming game. Only that it will be programmed with Unreal Engine 4 and the sought-after animator is to design characters, monsters, and animations for the development concepts.
This is why it could be Aion 2: In June 2017, the Chinese publisher of Aion announced that Aion 2 would eventually come. At that time, however, they were still creating game content for Aion, and Aion 2 was still a long way off.
Aion 2 was already in a “conceptual phase” back then. Given that this information was spread over a year ago and things have been relatively quiet around Aion, work on a successor is not unlikely.
This could be something else: So far, it is only known that the project is based on the “intellectual property” of Aion, meaning it will have some connection to the game. However, it does not necessarily have to be a sequel in the form of Aion 2.
It is also possible that it will be a large expansion for Aion, a parallel game from a different perspective, or even a prequel.
Fans are excited – but cautiously: The reaction on sites like mmorpg.com from the fans is positive but not unrestrained. Many fans are happy that something is finally happening with Aion, and they are eager for new content of any kind.
Others, however, point out that NCSoft likes to implement cash shops and fear a new Pay2Win game. Nevertheless, the news pleases the community, and they are eagerly waiting for more information about the upcoming game.
