More players have been allowed into the Alpha of Battle for Azeroth: Invitations have been sent out. Are you already exploring the latest WoW expansion?
The Alpha of the next expansion of World of Warcraft seems to be starting to ramp up. So far, mainly some streamers, journalists, and friends and acquaintances of Blizzard have been invited. However, since yesterday, some players have reported in the official forums that they have also gained access to the Alpha. It seems that Blizzard is gradually inviting more players.
It’s best to check your Battle.net launcher and see under the “World of Warcraft” menu item in “Region / Account” if you can select the Alpha for Battle for Azeroth. If so, then the download should start with a size of nearly 44 GB.
Warning about Phishing Emails
Some players also report that they have received emails from Blizzard confirming their invitation. You should be especially skeptical here, as there are many phishing attempts! For access to the Alpha/Beta, it is not necessary to respond to an email. No “Key” or anything similar needs to be activated. As soon as you can participate in the Alpha, it will be directly displayed in the Battle.net app.
Tomorrow evening (15.03.2018), there will be a larger Q&A with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas that thematically focuses on Battle for Azeroth. Many fans suspect that Hazzikostas will announce further waves of invitations or even announce the transition to closed Beta.
