In Call of Duty: Warzone, vehicles have been considered too strong since release. Players have long been calling for a nerf for the vehicles. However, a new change with the last patch has made them not weaker, but even stronger: Now you can further protect vehicles with an item.
What has changed? On April 8th, Season 3 started in CoD Warzone and in Modern Warfare. This introduced several changes in the game, including 2 new operators. But vehicles were also tweaked.
Vehicles can now be equipped with the Trophy System, a defensive field upgrade. It works like an automatic defense system.
This upgrade destroys grenades, rocket launcher projectiles, or tactical equipment. A common method was to stop vehicles with large explosions. This can now be prevented with the Trophy System.
Additionally, there was a hidden change that ensures that large SUVs and helicopters are only disabled by the first shot of a rocket, but no longer explode. This slightly strengthens the vehicles.
Why is this a problem? The well-known streamer shroud criticized the vehicles weeks ago and even claimed that they should disappear from the game:
- According to shroud, it should have been difficult to stop vehicles with explosions by the end of March.
- Moreover, one can explore the map entirely on foot and does not need the vehicles.
The latest changes will surely not please the streamer and are already viewed critically by other players.
Vehicles ruin Warzone
How are the players reacting? On reddit, a new thread was opened on the night of April 11th in which the user shcKr- complains about the vehicles. According to him, the single-player of Warzone is flooded with players in various vehicles.
While some users advise him to use C4 and rocket launchers against them, others understand the problem, like Rotdhizon:
The people talking about C4 and rocket launchers are delusional. When 5+ vehicles surround you, you immediately become the focus target of all the moment you try to blow one of them up.
You can’t generate enough explosions alone to stand up against all the vehicles.
Another user criticizes that one can enter vehicles from all directions or even leave them in the middle of a drive without taking a scratch.
Many players hope that Infinity Ward will make further changes to the vehicles in CoD: Warzone. However, the latest adjustments do not seem to suggest that the developers at Infinity Ward consider them too strong. Instead, they have focused on bringing back a popular mode.
