The usually well-informed Kotaku author Jason Schreier explains that we can look forward to a new Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry in 2020/2021.
Who is Jason Schreier? Jason Schreier is an editor at the online gaming magazine Kotaku and has plenty of contacts in the industry. He is well-informed and usually knows about announcements before they are made public.
When Jason Schreier “reveals” something, it often corresponds to the truth.
Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry are getting sequels
What did he announce? Schreier responded to a tweet referencing a earnings call with Ubisoft investors. In this, the company stated that five AAA games would be released between April 2020 and March 2021, three of which are Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine and Gods and Monsters.
Schreier then mentioned that another new Assassin’s Creed and another game from the Far Cry series are among them. However, no one should hope for a new Splinter Cell.
Is this likely? Certainly. Not only because Jason Schreier is very well-informed and has many insider contacts. No new Assassin’s Creed was released in 2019 because Ubisoft wanted to take more time. Therefore, it is actually logical that the action RPG series continues this year.
Moreover, there have been speculations about a new Assassin’s Creed for months. According to insiders, the game is in development and is supposed to be announced along with the Playstation 5.
As far as Far Cry is concerned, a new game is also likely. The last two titles in the series were released just one year apart.

What could these games be?
What can we expect with Assassin’s Creed? There are many rumors about a Viking scenario. Allegedly, the RPG elements are to be further expanded, and a co-op mode could be added. The story revolves around a war that Ragnar’s sons wage after the murder of their father. The title of the game is likely Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok.
Whether this information is true is unknown, as Ubisoft has not yet officially spoken about the next Assassin’s Creed.
What can we expect with Far Cry? There is no information on this yet. It is likely that we will not experience a continuation of Far Cry 5 and Far Cry: New Dawn this time, but rather something new. Another scenario could be conceivable. Maybe we will be taken to a distant planet.
If we do get a sequel to Far Cry: New Dawn, then perhaps we can expect a scenario that resembles Mad Max more. It is very likely that we will once again face a very interesting and crazy villain.
What do you wish for from a new Assassin’s Creed and the next Far Cry? Let us know in the comments!
