According to a Bloomberg journalist, Ubisoft may only have one chance, and that would be in the form of a new video game release in February 2025. If the game fails, the insider sees a bleak future for the company, and Ubisoft could be sold.

Ubisoft can only be saved by one game
What’s going on at Ubisoft? The company Ubisoft is in a precarious financial situation after several flops and failures. The Ubisoft stock is as weak as it was ten years ago.
The reasons for this are various factors: For example, the sales figures for Star Wars Outlaws were not high enough, or the much-anticipated title Skull & Bones also flopped.
What can still save Ubisoft? According to Jason Schreier, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is Ubisoft’s only hope. If the open-world game fails, the journalist does not see a positive outcome for the company, and it could thus be sold.
Jason Schreier sees the Chinese company Tencent or the Saudi Arabian company Savvy Games Group as potential candidates. Tencent already holds shares in Ubisoft, and Savvy Games Group announced its intention to expand this year.
If Ubisoft is not sold, the company would need to undergo drastic restructuring to avoid further fading into obscurity. In any case, all eyes are on Ubisoft, especially on the latest installment of Assassin’s Creed, and the fate of Ubisoft will be determined from the release date, which is February 14, 2025.
