The release delay of the action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 from November 19 to December 10 still sits heavily on fans, and now the next rumor has emerged: Apparently, Cyberpunk 2077 is to be delayed for the 4th time. The developer studio has now commented on this alleged delay.
What is this rumor about? Insider Tiffany Treadmore Inc. posted a message on Twitter that led to speculation that Cyberpunk 2077 could be delayed again. The person asked: “What if Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed again? What if it doesn’t come out this year?”
Tiffany Treadmore is known mainly for leaks about Nintendo games and has often been right with her statements. This has caused quite an uproar in the community. A further delay of Cyberpunk 2077? So soon after the last one? Do the developers then have to crunch over Christmas and New Year?
Cyberpunk 2077 developers release quasi-denial
How did the developers respond to that? After the rumor spread and speculation arose that CD Projekt Red would remove the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 from promotional banners, Community Lead Marcin Momont spoke out. He simply posted an advertisement for Cyberpunk 2077 on Twitter, showing December 10 as the launch date.
There is now also a statement from the studio to the website IGN. It says:
Generally, we do not comment on rumors or speculations. But I will confirm that we have only taken the time to update all our assets so that the new launch date of December 10 is reflected there.

CD Projekt Red thus explains that they have adjusted the advertising for the game and, for example, also the date on the GOG.com platform to December 10 because this is the planned release date of the action RPG Cyberpunk 2077.
This clearly rules out that there could still be a fourth delay. However, it suggests that they are currently planning firmly for December 10.
Insider says: Delay to January 2021 still likely
What does the insider who spread the rumor think about this? Tiffany Treadmore Inc. reacted to the statement from CD Projekt Red but does not seem convinced by this quasi-denial. According to the person, there are internal discussions that it is very likely that there will be another delay of the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 to January 2021.
