Once again, insider Tom Henderson speaks out. This time, it’s about the current status of the development of Battlefield 2042. Apparently, the shooter has already reached gold status internally. Additionally, the insider comments on the early access version and a day-one patch of the new Battlefield.
Who is he anyway? Henderson is considered an industry insider who has a good understanding of shooters like CoD and Battlefield and maintains contacts within the development studios.
He has already revealed several details about Battlefield 2042 in advance, even before it was clear what the latest Battlefield installment would be called. He also disclosed information about the modes Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone before they were officially presented.
Despite this, he has a difficult standing in the community. For instance, he was wrong about the date of the open beta for Battlefield 2042, which he attributed to internal difficulties at developer DICE and EA.
Now he has spoken out again and declared: At DICE, Battlefield 2042 is generally considered finished and has reached gold status. It also looks like there will be a day-one patch.
Battlefield 2042 is likely to be released on time, with a day-one patch
This is what Henderson says: As previously known, Battlefield 2042 will begin early access on November 12. This version will likely differ from the one that will be released for everyone on November 19.

What does gold status mean? Gold status does not mean that the game is fully developed. It simply means that Battlefield 2042 is at a point where it could be delivered by the developers.
Development is still ongoing. Henderson says about this: “Basically, both builds are now ‘complete’ – that means the basic work is finished and the builds are considered stable enough to continue being worked on.” (via Twitter)
This means that ‘finished’ does not necessarily mean that work on bugs and fixes won’t continue. This concern has been voiced by some players, as numerous technical problems occurred during the open beta.
If this information turns out to be correct, it would confirm that Battlefield 2042 is set to be released on time and will not be delayed again, as colleague Benedict Grothaus and many other fans have wished.
So fans can look forward to a release on November 12 and 19. However, keep in mind that this is not official information.
