Fortnite: Battle Royale might soon receive a new event. Dataminers have found hints of bizarre occurrences with the island and the runes on the map.
What is happening with the island and the runes? The runes on the Fortnite map originated in Season 5 and were further activated by the floating island. Now they have small craters that bounce your characters around.
And the island continues to hover over the map and transforms into a purple nightmare through the unholy power of the runes.
But what comes next? It seems that dataminers are trying to find out.
Will the runes soon explode around us?
What have the dataminers found? In the code of Patch 6.10, dataminers found hints of an upcoming event in the game. Accordingly, something will happen with the runes. There are text lines in the code that indicate five actions of the runes:
- Open
- Focus
- Pulse
- Radiate
- Close
What does that mean? Possibly all the runes will activate when the island completes its journey. They might open up, radiate the island (or the purple cube still stuck underneath it) and then trigger something new.
Everything is uncertain: Whether this will happen and what will then happen with the island is still unclear. A timeframe for when this event is supposed to start is also unknown. It may never happen. Epic has previously hidden assets for events in the code that have (so far) never occurred.
New sound files related to the island have appeared: In addition to the code lines of the runes, there are also new sound files associated with the island. Some of them sound quite dark and portentous.
Map is changing again
Major changes on the map have remained absent with Patch 6.10 for now. However, something has happened in some places:
- The new boutique, which was partially destroyed by the cube shortly after its opening in Tilted Towers, is currently being completely demolished.
- East of Junk Junction, part of a new racetrack has emerged. There will be the new quad ram there.
