Funcom has released humorous patch notes for the MMO The Secret World Legends appropriate for April 1st. But as it turns out, some of the content is real and has been incorporated into the game.
What was in the patch notes? Patch 2.3.2 titled “Shenanigans” was supposed to include all sorts of crazy new features:
- Grenades that have a 3% chance of misfiring and injuring the thrower
- Characters suddenly finding love or dating again
- Dungeons that were not changed at all but were still supposed to be mentioned in the patch notes
- At least four new bugs
However, attentive members of The Secret World Database noticed that some of the announced changes were indeed incorporated into the game.
Which contents of the patch notes were real? After all, eight points from the April Fools’ joke actually made it into the game.
Among other things, a new mission was added, through which players can earn items for the Museum of the Occult.
In addition, a new item was introduced into the game that allows players to summon house cats. Access to this is obtained from the “Rose Brawl,” a new PvP mini-game that was also included in the patch notes.
Also, there were updates in the PvP mode “Shambala.” Now, players can only fight in 5v5, whereas previously 10 players were allowed on each side. Rewards have also been improved.
What has happened recently in The Secret World Legends: Currently, things are relatively quiet around the horror-action-mystery MMO from Funcom.
In November, the update Dark Agartha was released, which was received with mixed feelings by players. Many had hoped for a new story, but instead, only got boss grinding.
However, the reworked Halloween event was very well received by players.
For the developer Funcom, the year 2018 was the most successful in their history. They also announced a new game that will not be an MMO but will take a lot from The Secret World:
