In The Division 2, skill power determines which mods you can equip for your skills and how you can enhance them. This allows you to increase your skill power.
This is what skill power does: The higher the value, the better skill mods can be equipped. These, in turn, have a enhancing effect on your skills.
Where can I see my skill power? Open your inventory. The total value will be shown on the left side.
Increasing Skill Power – here’s how
These are ways to increase your skill power:
- Look for gear that increases skill power: Especially in higher-level areas, you can find gear that can increase your skill power by 300 points or more. With a bit of luck, you can find suitable pieces at vendors.
- Pay attention to your gear mods: You can also gain some points with mods, especially as your gear score increases.
Often, these mods also come with additional bonuses such as a cooldown reduction. You should also look out for certain brand sets.
Some brand sets improve skill power and cooldown
What are brand sets? Your gear has a specific brand that provides you with different bonuses. With each equipped part of the same brand, an additional bonus is unlocked. You can activate up to 3 bonuses per brand.
These are the brand sets from which your skills are most likely to benefit:
- Alps Summit Armament: +10% cooldown reduction, +5% skill power
- Providence Defence: +10% skill power
One option would be to combine one piece of the Providence brand with 2 pieces of the ASA brand.
Individual brand sets can also bring bonuses for specific skills. For example, the ASA brand set increases the strength of the drone stock by 10%.

What about skill mods? Currently, it seems that many skill mods have exaggerated requirements for skill power.
Especially low-level mods can sometimes have requirements that are unattainable with the appropriate gear.
Developers Massive will probably make adjustments here.
